Seed Flora

The flowershop Seed Flora has just celebrated its fourth anniversary. Situated in a former garage at 79 Bay Street, Glebe, the shop is light and airy and full of incredible flowers. The department store David Jones featured enormous, vibrant displays of native flowers such as banksias and leucospermum, all created by the team behind Seed Flora, in September; they were surrounded by flocks of people taking photographs but for once I didn't have my camera with me. Elizabeth was creating a table display for a Chinese wedding (no white flowers allowed), but perfect, pale cream-coloured roses for a more traditional wedding table display were lined up along the sides of the room. The striking red flower below is the Waratah, the state flower of New South Wales.
