Sydney Hospital

The oldest hospital in Australia, Sydney Hospital dates back to 1788 and has been at its current location in Macquarie Street since 1811. It's a beautiful old building, which is still a working hospital (artificial eyes, STDs, hand surgery, and a tiny six-bed emergency department) and also, as a civilised place, houses a very nice café. I was completely alone when I fell on the stairs; trying to taking a picture of a shadowy open door and missing my step, I landed heavily on my knees, somehow managing to keep the camera off the ground. Within minutes a man in green overalls appeared from nowhere and inquired after my welfare.
